Hi there, I’m Kari!
I’m a dreamer, a lover of arts and crafts, a do-it-yourselfer, a MADD supporter, and a stay at home mom. I’m passionate about travel and I have a serious case of wanderlust! Problem is, I’ve not had the time and resources to travel like I want to YET. So I started this blog as a creative outlet and a way to fund my travel dreams.
A little backstory:
I’m a single mom of one very special 6 year old boy named Bentley. A lot of his life has been just him and I. Coming from a very small town in Kansas (less than 900 people), good careers are few and far between. I grew up only wishing I could see the mountains and the ocean as I speculate plenty of Kansans may do. When I was 21, my son was born and aside from my family, we were alone. I was a single mom and a college dropout. Eighteen months later, I met a man and fell in love. He loved us, too, and life was close to perfect. He took on the role of Bentley’s dad, but it was short-lived. When Bentley was three years old, we were travelling home for Easter when we were struck by a drunk driver. Suddenly, the only dad Bentley had known was gone and we were alone again. Devastating as it was, we had to push forward. Three years later, the pain is still there, but life must go on. Being a single mom in rural Kansas is difficult. I constantly dreamed of going to new places, but could hardly put food on the table. I had three jobs at one point! Then I met a man with the same love of travel as mine. He whisked me off to the mountains and I was hooked. We took a few trips in 2017 that strengthened my wanderlust exponentially.
Today, that man, my son and I are chasing big dreams! Mine is to make travel a regular part of our lives. Until it is a reality, I will research the best places to visit one day and I will share my findings here with my readers. One day we will get to go out and travel the world and I can’t wait to share it all with you!
